Jocy De Oliveira

Jocy De Oliveira is a composer, pianist, author, and media artist.

She has composed numerous operatic and music theater works, and published four books, including Days & Routes. Her music has been performed at Carnegie Hall, New Music America, at planetariums in New York, Miami, Rio de Janeiro, and Sao Paulo, and it has been broadcast on Brazilian television. As pianist, she has recorded the complete works of Olivier Messiaen, and has appeared as a soloist with the Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, every major Brazilian orchestra, and radio orchestras throughout Europe. De Oliveira has received awards from the Rockefeller Foundation, New York Council on the Arts, Meet the Composer, and Foundation of Art and Culture Vitae (Brazil).

De Oliveira currently lives and works in Rio de Janeiro.
