Federico Placidi & Matteo Milani

Milan/Rome based Matteo Milani and Federico Placidi are sound artists whose work spans from digital music to electro acoustic improvisation. Unidentified Sound Object is born from the desire to discover new paths and non-linear narrative strategies in both aural and visual domains. The project includes several collaborations with visual artists and performers.

U.S.O. Project is a continuing, evolving organism.

Federico Placidi (left) is a composer and sound designer. Since 1993, he has been working with composers and performers as a sound designer and live-electronics technician and developing his personal sound library and tools. He has also worked as a sound editor/ designer for numerous full-feature movies. His music ranges from "concrète" acoustic to experimental. He has been a Kyma fellow since 1997. He currently lives and works in Rome

Matteo Milani (right) is a sound designer living in Milan, Italy. He currently works in the creative industry, editing sound tracks for motion pictures, television and radio commercials. In the mid 90s, he pioneered the rising of digital audio workstations. He is now expressing most of his creativity in composing computer music and performing live electronics. He's currently blending "synthetic" and "organic" sound materials.
