Garth Paine is a composer, installation artist, sound designer, and educator. He has an international reputation as a leader in the area of interactive sound works. His work has been exhibited / performed at DesignX:Critical Reflections (Florida, USA), NIME03 (Montreal), Cybersonica (London), SIGGRAPH (USA), Sonic Residues Festival (Melbourne), Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria), Cyber Arts Festival (Boston, USA), Staatliches Institut für Musikforschung (Berlin), Melbourne International Festival (Melbourne), Dance Umbrella Festival (London), and The New Moves Festival (Glasgow). The showing of his work at Ars Electronica in 1999 lead to him being listed as one of twenty people "changing the face of electronic music in the twentieth century" by Keyboard Magazine (Germany). He is currently Head of the Electronic Arts Program and Senior Lecturer in Music Technology at the University of Western Sydney, Sydney, Australia. |
