Maggi Payne

Composer of electronic music, flutist, video artist, and recording engineer, Maggie Payne is known for the elegance and complexity of her sounds.

Her awards include grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and Mellon Foundation. Her work has been performed at Sonic Circuits IV, Next Wave Festival, eXstatic Project (Australia), Prix Ars Electronica, SoundCulture '96, Siggraph, and Bourges. She has been Artist-in-Residence at the Exploratorium in San Francisco.

She is professor and co-director of the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College.
