Ros Bandt is a sound artist who creates multimedia sound sculptures, interactive installations, and environmental music. CM Warsaw, ORF Vienna, Radio WDR, ABC, TheHer work has included indoor and outdoor venues such as wheat silos, concrete water tanks, car parks, Austrian salt mines, limestone Quarries and the virtual spaces of the internet. Her awards include the ABC / WDR Sound Art Award, and Don Banks Composers Fellowship. She was the inaugural Benjamin Cohen Scholar for peace and innovation at Ball State University. Her commissions include the Paris Autumn Festival and IS Chinese Orchestra. As a performance artist she has toured her original music on original sound sources and sculptures throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. She has also recorded and toured internationally with the ensembles La Romanesca, LIME, and Back to Back Zithers. She is author of Sound sculpture: Intersections in Sound and Sculpture in Australian Artworks, and she has curated exhibitions including 'Beaming the Theremin' for the Melbourne International Festival. Ros Band lives in Melbourne, Australia. She travels the world performing, creating sound installations, and curating exhibitions. |
