Claude Schryer is an electroacoustic soundscape composer, sound designer/editor, and arts administrator. He also composes for documentary film and recorded media. Acoustic Ecology (WFAE), co-founder and president of the Canadian Association for Sound Ecology, and co-founder of the media arts production group DIFFUSION i MEDIA. His awards include prizes at Bourges, Phonurgia Nova International Radio Art Competition, and Radio-Canada. His commissions include North Bay Symphony Orchestra (Ontario), La Muse en Circuit (France), Music Gallery (Toronto), Societe Radio-Canada (Montreal), Shauna Rolston (Banff), and Trevor Tureski (Toronto). He has been artist in residence at Brahmshaus (Baden-Baden), GRAME (Lyon), Groupe de Musique Experimentale de Marseille, Muse en Circuit (Paris), and Simon Fraser University (Vancouver). Claude Schryer currently serves as Inter-Arts Officer at the Canada Council for the Arts. |
