![]() Hans TammenHans Tammen performs with a remarkable collection of mechanical devices on his computer -processed multi-channeled "endangered" guitars. His music has been described as "extreme, torturing noise scrapings, an alien world of bizarre textures, hard-to-believe sounds... He has performed throughout the world, in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Russia and across Europe, solo, and with various ensembles. He has given site-specific performances at the Kassel planetarium (using the planetarium-projector) and at underground pedestrian tunnels, abandoned factories, public garages, museums, public swimming pools, wine cellars and churches. Collaborators have included dancer Fine Kwiatkowski, light artist Michael Vorfeld, and he has recorded with Denman Maroney, Herb Robertson, Steve Swell, Ursel Schlicht, Dominic Duval, and Jay Rosen for NurNichtNur, Leo Records, Potlatch, Cadence and Hybrid. With his Endangered Guitar Processing system he performs live on up to eight independent channels. With collaborators connected via the internet he is using German composer Georg Hajdu's QUINTET.NET-software. Tammen was born in Germany and lives In New York City, and he actively performs and tours internationally. |
