"I compose using acoustic and computer generated music in an effort to create cathartic experiences for my audience. When composing I draw from an integrated intellectual, psychological and emotional source from my inner voice, drawn from my life experiences. "

Anne Deane is a composer and performer of instrumental and computer music. Her work expands acoustic instrumental performance with images, spatialization, synthesis and processing in a sensitive and imaginative way.

Anne Deane's music has been performed throughout the world. She has received awards and grants from Baroness Léni Fé Bland Foundation, Alvin and Charlotte Bronstein Foundation, Santa Barbara County Arts Commission ... Recent performances of her music have taken place at Carnegie Recital Hall (New York City), Music in the Great Hall Concert Series (Maryland), Sonic Circuits V, Seventh Annual Florida Electroacoustic Music Festival, International Summer Meeting of Electroacoustic Music (Sarvar, Hungary), International Computer Music Conference (Hong Kong), Ojai Music Festival ... Deane has served as associate editor of Computer Music Journal.

Anne Deane teaches at the University of California at Santa Barbara, serves as Associate Director of the University of California Digital Media Innovation Program, and as Vice President of the Walden School, a summer music school and festival for young musicians in Dublin, New Hampshire.
