Roger Doyle works extensively with electronics, theatre, film and dance. A former jazz / rock drummer, Roger Doyle is one of Ireland's best known composers of electronic music.

His major work, 'The Babel Project', integrating live and electronic music, dance and architecture, had its first public showing in an entire wing of the Irish Museum of Modern Art in 1992. It has been recently released as a 5-CD set. He has created a multimedia show using customised realtime interactive sensor software for Operating Theatre, a music-theatre company he co-founded. Doyle has been awarded the Programme Music Prize at Bourges and the Irish Arts Council's Martin Toonder Award. His work has been commissioned by the Netherlands Wind Ensemble and STEIM, and recorded by CBS, Silverdoor, Cantilena Mother Records, Kalu Rehearsals, empreintes DIGITALes ... In the Autumn of 1999 the Netherlands Wind Ensemble made a concert tour of his work, with Irish Pipes and old-style Irish singer added to their ranks, performing in 4 Dutch cities culminating in a live radio link-up at the Paradiso in Amsterdam, and a CD release.
