![]() Thomas Gerwin "We are living in a symphony. We are surrounded by sounds, rhythms and melodies ... And we are listening to this symphony all the time ... I consider myself a part of the world community, and with my artistic work I am trying to contribute to the world's social climate by reflecting it ... " Thomas Gerwin is a composer and producer whose work includes film, theater, radio, and sound and video installations. He has particular interest in environmental soundscape compositions. He has been director of the music archives and audio library at the Center for Art and Media Technology (ZKM) in Karlsruhe, Germany, where his Acoustic World Atlas is on permanent exhibition. His work has been seen and heard throughout the world. His Wattenmeer-Suite was commissioned by the National Nature Park, Waddensea, Germany, and among his many awards are the German State Radio SWR's Karl Sczuka Support Award, American Composers Forum's Election Award ...
