![]() Didier Guigue "When composing, I experiment with timbre and sound as basic structural elements generated through algorithmic processes. These experiments, however, are not to be systematically found in all my works, as I do not have a dogmatic approach to music." Didier Guigue composes instrumental and electro-acoustic music, in a variety of styles which range from experimental computer music to progressive pop, rock, jazz. He also composes for video, film, dance, and theater projects. Guigue has composed for many films including the award-winning music for A margem da Luz and A Arvore da miseria. His works have been played at the International Computer Music Conference 1997, Jazz Festival Brazil / Argentina in New York, XII Bienal de Musica Contemporanea Brasileira in Rio de Janeiro, III CEAIT Electronic Music Festival in California Institute of Arts ... He has worked at CNPQ (National Brazilian Council for Research) and his papers have been published in La Revue de Musicologie, Journal of New Music Research, Electronic Musicology Review ... Guigue's music has been included in compilation CDs published by Organized Sound, Leonardo Music Journal ... Didier Guigue lives in Brazil and teaches music analysis and computer music at the Federal University of Paraiba. Available CDs |
