Erdem Helvacioglu
Erdem Helvacioglu is one of the most reknowned electronic music composers of his generation in Turkey. His compositions have been included in prestigious festivals including The San Francisco Tape Music Festival, Sonorities Festival of Contemporary Music, SICMF, Musica Viva, Spring in Havana, and Third Practice Electroacoustic Music Festival. He has received numerous awards and prizes for his music from Luigi Russolo Foundation, Musica Nova, and Insulae Electronicae.
His film music has been heard at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. He has been commissioned by Margaret Lancaster, Todd Reynolds, Kinan Azmeh, Cem Duruoz, and the 2006 World Cup. His latest solo album 'Altered Realities' has been featured in leading magazines, including Gramophone, Signal to Noise, Textura, Guitar Player, Cyclic Defrost, and Time Off.
Helvacioglu currently lives and works in Istanbul and travels widely.
