![]() Francisco Kropfl "My most recent pieces reflect my growing interest in exploring the human voice as sound source through the wide resources of digital processing." Francisco Kropfl is a pioneer of electronic music in Argentina. In 1958, he founded the Estudio de Fonologia Musical at the University of Buenos Aires, the first institutional center of its kind in Latin-America. He is a composer of chamber, orchestral, and electronic music. Kröpfl's awards include the Magistere Prize at the Concours International de Musique Electroacoustique, IMEB, Bourges, a Guggenheim fellowship ... He has been Professor of Musical Morphology at the University of Buenos Aires and Musical Director of Agrupacion Nueva Musica. He is President of the Argentine Federation of Electroacoustic Music (FARME), member of the Board of Directors of the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music (CIME0, and Musical Director at the Fondo Nacional De Las Artes Argentine Endowment of the Arts. Francisco Kröpfl currently lives in Buenos Aires and directs the Music and Technology Area of the Centro Cultural Recoleta. Available CDs |
