![]() Bun-Ching Lam "My work includes compositions for both Chinese and western instruments, ranging from solo to orchestra. In these compositions I have attempted to combine my Chinese sensibility with western compositional techniques, creating a music that is contemporary." Composer, pianist, and conductor, Bun-Ching Lam's music integrates Western and traditional Chinese influences and instrumentation. She is winner of a Rome Prize Fellowship, first prizes in the Hong Kong Conservatory Art Song Competition, Northwest Composer's Symposium, Aspen Music Festival, Shanghai Music Competition, and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, Seattle Arts Commission and Meet the Composer. Works have been commissioned by the American Dance Festival, percussionist Fritz Hauser ... and recorded by Tzadik ...
