Tod Machover is a composer and designer of new musical technology. His music integrates acoustic and electronic sound, interaction, operatic and rock aesthetics.

Among his many technological creations are 'hyperinstruments', which have been used by Yo-Yo Ma, Prince, Peter Gabriel ... His music has been performed and commissioned by The Los Angeles Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Ensemble InterContemporain (Paris), Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt), Tokyo String Quartet, Lincoln Center Festival (New York) ... He has been awarded prizes and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, French Culture Ministry, Koussevitzky Foundation, Fromm Foundation at Harvard University, Reader's Digest Lila Acheson Wallace Foundation ...

He is professor of Music & Media, Head of the Opera of the Future / Hyperinstruments Group, and Co-Director of the Things That Think (TTT) and Toys of Tomorrow (TOT) consortia at M.I.T.'s Media Laboratory.
