Claude Schryer is an electroacoustic soundscape composer, sound designer / editor, and arts administrator. He also composes for documentary film and recorded media.

Schryer is a founding member of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology (WFAE), co-founder and president of the Canadian Association for Sound Ecology, and co-founder of the media arts production group DIFFUSION i MEDIA. His awards include prizes at Bourges, Phonurgia Nova International Radio Art Competition, Radio-Canada ... His commissions include North Bay Symphony Orchestra (Ontario), La Muse en Circuit (France), Music Gallery (Toronto), Societe Radio-Canada (Montreal), Shauna Rolston (Banff), Trevor Tureski (Toronto) ... He has been artist in residence at Brahmshaus (Baden-Baden), GRAME (Lyon), Groupe de Musique Experimentale de Marseille, Muse en Circuit (Paris), Simon Fraser University (Vancouver) ...

Claude Schryer currently serves as Inter-Arts Officer at the Canada Council for the Arts.
