![]() Nancy Van de Vate "I like to compose for many different kinds of audiences and to work in many genres. My principal interest, however, is in music in the large forms -- for orchestra, chorus and orchestra, and opera." Nancy Van de Vate has composed more than 130 works from solo instrument to to grand opera. Her music has been heard at music festivals and in radio broadcasts throughout the world. Her awards include the National Endowment for the Arts, American Association of University Women, Austrian Foreign Ministry ... She has been on university faculties, performed as violist and pianist. She founded the International League of Women Composers. Her articles have appeared in Musical America, The International Musician, The Instrumentalist, Symphony News ... She is often interviewed for radio broadcast and music journal and newspaper articles and she lectures worldwide about her music. She is co-founder, current vice-president, and artistic director of Vienna Modern Masters, a nonprofit contemporary music CD company.
