'Sally' or 'The Bubble Burst' is an interactive DVD-ROM by Toni Dove. The main character is Sally Rand, well-known fan and bubble dancer from the 1930s, who does her famous bubble dance on screen, authentically recreated by dancer Helen Pickett from research, photos, and newsreels. Sally sings 1930s songs and speaks about the Great Depression in response to a voice input, via microphone, or to tapping on computer keys. Objects such as bubbles, a chair, a shawl, and a radio, animated by the voices of Shelley Hirsch, Eric Mingus, and others, also sing and speak. Put together by Kathy Brew and Kevin Duggan, producers, Peter Scherer, music and sound design, and R. Luke Dubois, software design, this is a technically virtuoso and completely charming item. For Macintosh OS9 or OSX only.
